Delivery Doors
Well its been a while since I posted and I decided it was time to get back at it. a couple of weeks a =go I was contracted to remove a couple of frames and replace some door for a local restaurant. These were on the back side where customers don’t usually go. Which in my opinion is a good thing because most would immediately lose half of the regular customers.
These doors are the ones used for deliveries and hauling out the garage. My biggest concern is staying upright while trying to remove the old doors and frames and re-installing new ones. This is because the floors are tile or smooth concrete, both very slippery when covered with a thin layer or oils and food products that hit the floor during preparation of yours and my lunch, dinner or breakfast.
I am not saying that this restaurant was not meeting the codes for cleanliness it was just very hard to walk on at first. Once I figured out what it took to stay on my feet I started to remove the frames and this is what I found.
It was pretty bad and inside one leg of the old frame there were quite a few worms and other live one cell critters that I didn’t want to touch. We were able to clean it all up and install a new frame and seal it all up with 100% silicone caulk and it should stay bug free now. So that was the fun job of the week.
I hope this doesn’t discourage you from eating out.
